Five for Friday

I am linking up with Kacey for Five for Friday.  I am on vacation, woo hoo.  Two weeks for Winter Break, one week of furlough meetings, then three weeks off - so excited.  I am a little bummed that my Disney passes are blocked until January 5, sigh.

Here are my five for this week.

Hubby and I spent two days at Disneyland - celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.  We had soooo much fun.  This is the second marriage for both of us, so it is pretty impressive that we made it to this special year.  Or at least the wedding stats for second marriages say.

I asked my sons to meet us at Disneyland on Sunday.  I, really, wanted a family picture in front of the Disney tree and pictures of the grandbabes with Santa.  My boys made it happen, for me.  I was missing one son because he lives in Washington State and one grandchild.  It took a lot of work trying to coordinate everyone, but I was super happy that we pulled it off.

My anniversary present from hubby was a "Walk in Walt Disney's Footsteps" tour.  Oh my gosh, it was wonderful.  We got to go inside the lobby of Club 33.  The history that our guide shared with us was amazing.  We, also, got to go inside his apartment.  It was the perfect present for me.

At school, was gingerbread week.  My little guys made the cutest gingerbread houses.  I have been doing this every Christmas and it is my favorite thing to make at school.

I made scarves for the secretaries at school - it has been so cold in California, then hot, then cold...

I gave the scarves names like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Figgy Pudding, The Grinch and Winter Wonderland.  I love giving homemade gifts to people.  I wish I had more time to make them.

We, also, at our Staff Party on campus this week - soup and salad.  I am on the left and my Kinder partner is on the right.  I love, love my new partner.  We are both, huge, Disney fans and get along great.

I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing

Merry Christmas

Monday Make It

I am linking up with Tara for Monday Make-It.  Christmas is my favorite time of year, so I have been busy since Thanksgiving - creating.  It makes me happy.

School

I dyed pasta and rice for my TK kiddos.  I might have used too much peppermint extract on the rice because my whole house smells like peppermint, lol.

I made some peppermint playdough for them to play with during Center time.  My kids love playdough, it is one of their favorite centers.

Home

I made myself a scarf because morning duty has been freezing.  I am a California girl, so if it gets below 50 - I am not happy, unless I can stay inside.

I made some sea glass ornaments from all the wonderful pieces that I found in Hawaii.  This one is a wire star with a big piece in the middle.

I made a few sand dollar ornaments.

I made a few Santa hats for my granddaughter's "Nightmare Before Christmas" tree.  I bought the pumpkins after Halloween for 20 cents a piece, then knitted a few hats.  She loves her tree.

I have lots of projects to get finished before Christmas.  My brain is constantly spinning with new ideas, plus Pinterest doesn't help.  I can't wait to see what everyone has been making this month.

Reindeer Games

We started our Reindeer activities by reading this book.  Santa is looking for someone to fly his sleigh and there a lot of applicants.  Really cute book.

We made these reindeer to hang from our clothesline.  I still need to upload the patterns for everyone.  I used scrapbook paper for the antlers and the nose.

We did some reindeer writing and a wordsearch freebie from my store.

Reindeer Wordsearch

I decorated our classroom door.  The inspiration came from here.  I wish I could paper on my door like she did, hers is adorable.  Our Fire Marshall would have a fit with just the little bit I put on my door.

I bought Teri's Reindeer packet - love it.  You can get it here

reindeer games {craftivity & printables}

This is the reindeer craft from the packet, adorable.

They had to write what they would do, "If I were a Reindeer..."

I love the eyes on this one.

The completed bulletin board in the hallway.  A couple of the little ones didn't finish their writing yet.

This week, we are doing elf, the Grinch and gingerbread houses.  Our 3 week break starts on Friday, which I can't wait.  In the last two weeks, I have had the stomach flu and now, a cold which is probably my yearly bronchitis, grrrrr.
