Saturday Snapshots - August 10

I am linking up with Miss Nelson for Saturday Snapshots, she takes the most adorable pictures of her nieces.  She has another giveaway going on, if you link up today with The Swirl Girl.  She makes the cutest door hangers - I NEED a few.

Bath time for my adorable granddaughters.  They are getting so big, I get to spend the afternoon with them tomorrow.

Dueling cameras.  They were both sitting on my table and I thought it was funny.  I, always, carry one of them with me.  I should be an advertisement for Canon cameras.  I have had 4 different Canon cameras, I keep upgrading.

A project for my classroom, that I am super excited about it.

A project for my granddaughter.  I love the mustache and polka dot, but not the other two - looks like I will be going to the quilt store today for more fabric.

There is some major construction going on, by work.  They are making a new road.  When I was stuck in traffic, I saw these huge metal pipes discarded on the side of the road.  I whipped on my camera and took a picture, it seemed so sad to me.

I am going to hang out with some friends this afternoon.  We are going on a wine tasting harbor cruise, should be a blast.

Five for Friday

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs for Five for Friday.  I can't wait to see what everyone has been doing this week.

fiveforfriday2

This was Week #5 for me, 3 more weeks and I am on break.  I know most of you are just starting back, so I am a little jealous that you had a summer.

#1

I love Melonheadz, it is an obsession.  Someone had blown up Melonheadz kids to use on their bulletin board, it was brilliant - so I did the same things with my cubbies.  They are adorable and it made my kids so excited to see their cubbies this morning.

#2

I was really proud of my babes' cutting skills this week.  I think my 4 year olds did a great job.  I used a Martha Stewart button punch for the eyes, too cute.

#3

Our Kinder team makes a Memory Book for their kids.  I wanted to make one with mine, but decided to make it a little different.  I am making an ABC of TK book.  This is what our "B" page looks like.

One of my little ones gluing her buttons on the letter.  I used the Martha Stewart button punch, again.

Here is one completed.  I will put all of them in a book and on the opposite page, I will put pictures.  For example, I will put their Birthday picture and Bono picture - opposite this page.

#4

Last year, I made this double sided apron - my Chicka apron.  It works really well for Kinder.  The kids were coming up to me and pointing to the letters and telling me the letters and the sounds.

#5

These are the cutest black polka dot shoes.  Warning: wear socks with them.  I had blisters on both heals and little toes by 9:30 this morning.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.

Tickle Ants

The other day we were talking about the letter 'A', they needed to color an ant page.  My babes think that everything should be colored blue or green - must be their favorite colors.  The conversation went like this...

S said, "Mrs. Sasaki, what color are ants?"

I  responded, "Ants are usually brown, black or sometimes red.  The red ants can bite, so don't go near the red ants."

S said, "Ohhhhhh, hm."

J chirped, "So, if the red ants bite - do the black ants tickle?"

And this is why I love my job.

What was I thinking

I made the mistake of going to Wal-Mart this afternoon - What was I thinking.... School starts tomorrow.  It was complete crazy wrapped up in nutty.  Now, let me explain - I started back on July 8 - that my friends is 5 weeks ago.  Most of my district is traditional year, which means they start tomorrow.  Only 5 schools in our district are year round, I teach at one of them.  I forgot all about the craziness.  I walked through the store, thinking to myself, there are a lot of people here today.  Then....I walked down the school aisle - just to check things out.

It was out of control people.  Three sets of parents were screaming for their lost children.  There is no way I was going to get my cart in that aisle.  I quietly backed out and ran for the register.  DO NOT GO TO WAL-MART THE DAY BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS, that is my public message to save the world.

On a happier note, I did upload my first beginning of the year packet to TpT.  It is a color number printing practice book.  My kids loved it.  It has 3 different books and a center activity in the packet.  It is perfect for Kinder babes and a review for first grade, at the beginning of the year.

Here is the preview packet.

Please check it out, I know your kids will love it - mine did.

Remember, stay away from Wal-Mart the night before school starts, just sayin'.

Monday Make-It

I am linking up with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Make-It.  I have so many projects started, but only finished a couple of them.  I tend to be ADD on my projects and have a hard time staying on one project at a time.  One of these days I will show you my craft table, it is out of control, lol.

I made a class set of leis for a bloggy buddy that matches her classroom.  I love the color combination.

The colors are so cheerful to me.  My little ones love their center leis, sometimes they change centers just so they can get a different color, lol.

I have a ton of clip art, just like all of us.  So I made a binder, so I can quickly glance to see what I have in each file.  I get so frusturated when I am lookin for something and can't find it.  Yes, I have bought the same file twice, geez.

First, I made a template in Publisher with text boxes, then added a picture frame inside of those boxes.  So when I added clip art it would stay within that box.  I added the title of the folder at the bottom.  Printed them out and put in plastic sleeves.  I am not finished with the binder, yet.  It will probably take a couple of binders.  Everytime, I buy a new clip art set, then I will make the little cheat sheet - hopefully.

I made a memory with my grand daughter.

I can't believe that my sweet girl will be starting 6th grade this week.  Everyone needs new clothes for school.  I gave her a budget, which I ended up spending double of that - because everything she tried on looked adorable on her.  I started having a few tears, when she walked out of the dressing room wearing this outfit.  We finished the day having lunch at Olive Garden.  I am the luckiest grandma in the world.

Ok, head on over and see what everyone else is doing.  I keep a notebook next to me so I can write down the links and all the great ideas.

I hope you have a SUPER week.

Saturday Snapshots

I am linking up with Miss Nelson for Saturday Snapshots.  I spent last weekend in Colorado visiting my brother and my niece.  She had an adorable little girl, two weeks ago so we needed to visit her.  My parents and my sister were there, too.  It was a nice reunion.

Hubby and I went walking in the morning and I took a lot of pictures of the beautiful flowers.  I have a bunch more, but these are some of my favorites.

I love the way it looks like water colors.  The weather was perfect.

My dad loves babies.  I was able to get this one of him making faces at his great grand daughter

Sleepy baby, love taking these kind so photos.

I didn't take many pictures of my class this week, I hope to do better next week.  My to do list for this weekend is huge - lots of school projects that need to get finished.

Five for Friday

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs this week.  It seems like forever since we did this.

I survived my first month of school, woo hoo.  I can't believe how fast it went.  Since I was still standing at the end of the day, I had a couple pieces of this huge bar.  I haven't had much chocolate since May.   I was very proud that I didn't eat the whole thing.

Miss Nelson made me the cutest behavior beads for my little ones.  I stopped by Hobby Lobby after school to pick up the chain to make the necklaces this weekend.  She has so many different designs, you have to check her out.

We read "Chicka Chicka" for the first time this week. We made our names so they could go up the tree.  I used a fat font for the first letter of their name and they painted dots with a q-tip
There is a really cute song on YouTube that my kids loved.  They begged to sing it today, again

My cutting sensory box has been a huge favorite of my little ones.  This child couldn't hold the scissors, now look at how small those pieces of paper are.  She spends most of her time at this center.  She is putting a very tiny drop of glue on that red speck.

My last treat, because I didn't eat that whole chocolate bar and only spent $100.00 at Hobby Lobby, was a trip to Sonic.  It was the first soda that I have had since May.  Our Sonic is about 30 minutes from my house and just happens to be near the Hobby Lobby.  I thought it was a win win - for me.

Well, it is your turn to link up and see what everyone has been up to - especially the lucky ones that are still on vacation, sigh.
